PhD students ZHANG Yilin, ZHANG Bowang, FAN Junyu, and LUO Zhishen formed the team "Go-Wireless," which showcased a high-efficiency, lightweight robot wireless charging system. They secured third place in the competition and were awarded 10,000 RMB.

Prof. Lionel M. Ni currently assumed the role of the President of HKUST(GZ). Prof. Ni first joined HKUST in July 2002 and served in various capacities including Chair Professor and Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dean of HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School, and Special Assistant to the President. In January 2015, he became the Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) and Chair Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Macau. He rejoined HKUST as Provost and Chair Professor of Computer Science and Engineering in May 2019.)
