Dr. Wei HAN is an Assistant Professor at the Sustainable Energy and Environment Thrust, Function Hub, HKUST (GZ). He is also the affilicated Assistant Professor in Electronic and Computer Engineering Department, HKUST. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Toronto in Prof. Peter W. Lehn’s group from 2020 to 2021. He received his Ph.D. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong in 2020 and 2015, respectively, supervised by Prof. K.T. Chau and Prof. C.C. Chan. He received his B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Northeastern University in 2014.
His research interests include power electronics, wireless power transfer, motor drives, and smart grids. Dr. Han is a CPSS Senior Member, IEEE member and the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientist (2024, 2025). He acts as Associate Editors of Scientific Reports and Applied Sciences, Session Chairs of ICIT2022 and IECON 2023 etc., Guest Editors of Energies, Sensors, World Electric Vehicle Journal and Applied Sciences.
